Below is a list of locations that have recently been closed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The department inspects restaurants in Florida.

A third-place finisher on this list received a “stop use” order from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The Ministry of Agriculture inspects supermarkets and bakeries.

All restaurants mentioned have been allowed to reopen after an orderly cleaning and re-inspection.

Chefness Bakery still has a ‘stop use’ order in place.

“Cockroach activity present as evidenced by live cockroaches found. I observed a live cockroach crawling on the dining room floor, a live cockroach downstairs, 3 live cockroaches under a three compartment sink in the kitchen.

“The employee broke raw eggs in shell, then handled ready-to-eat foods and/or cleaned equipment or utensils without washing their hands. The employee observed was breaking shell eggs and then touching clean utensils. The operator correctly changed gloves and washed his hands.

“Cockroach activity present as evidenced by live cockroaches found. Observed 1 spice container living in the kitchen flip top cooler, 1 living on the floor under the hand washing sink near the cooler near the cooking line, 1 living on the wall behind the stove in the preparation area.

“Dead cockroaches in the premises. Observed 3 under the hand washing sink per litter in the cooler by the cooking line. 3 upstairs near the cold room in the dishwashing area.

“Employee touching ready-to-eat food with bare hands – food was not heated as a single ingredient to 145 degrees F or immediately added to other ingredients to be cooked/heated to the minimum temperature required to allow hand contact naked. The facility does not have an approved alternative operating procedure. The observed chef places the cheese in a take-out box without gloves. Discussed proper handling of ready-to-eat foods, employee washed hands and put on gloves.

Old food debris was observed on the floors , on shelves, on food preparation tables, on kneaders, on the dough sheeter, on the dough shaper, on the lids of plastic containers, on plastic containers, in microwaves , on the floors of walk-in refrigerators, on the panels inside the oven, on the stoves and on the metal baking dishes in the kitchen.

“Several male food workers were observed turning dough without hair ties on the food preparation tables in the kitchen.”
