The purchase of Deanspoint by the Goldman Sachs-backed insurance broker, which operates as Abbey Murphy Insurance, is part of the company’s continued expansion into Ireland and the UK.
Based in Longford and Mullingar, Abbey Murphy Insurance provides personal insurance and business brokerage services. Its acquisition marks Aston Lark’s second in the Midlands. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
Abbey Murphy Insurance employs 17 people, including the management team led by Managing Director Mike Winters, Director Celine Gill and Commercial Account Director Michael Gardiner. The management group will remain with the insurer after the transaction.
“The world of insurance is constantly changing and to that end we had to decide our next step so that we can continue to provide our clients with the highest quality service possible,” said Winters. “There were a variety of opportunities, but none were perfect until we met Robert Kennedy from Aston Lark. Our shared values of caring for our customers and employees have made Aston Lark the perfect fit for us. “
Robert Kennedy, CEO of Aston Lark Ireland, added that the two companies have “a lot of synergy in cultures”.
“They have built a fantastic business based on customer first principles, providing high level customer service and focusing on building lasting relationships that align with our values,” he said. “We couldn’t be prouder that they chose Aston Lark Ireland as their home.”
